Dear Colleague,
A new book is hitting the shelves this month that tells it like it is about the emotional rollercoaster that throw many women (and some men) for a loop after childbirth. In the Postpartum Survival Guide. Life Will Never Be The Same: The Real Mom's Postpartum Survival Guide, Drs. Ann Dunnewold and Diane Sanford have revised their landmark 1994 book, Postpartum Survival Guide, with updated information and new sections on barriers to change, nutritional support, and strategies for self care, including how to cope with the all-too-common feelings of guilt and inadequacy that plague all moms. Visit MedEdPPD's Books section for a link to this book at Amazon.com (you'll find this book in the first column, near the bottom of the page).

The law was authored by U.S. Senator Robert Menendez (D-NJ) and Rep. Bobby Rush (D-IL). The brand new law will establish a comprehensive federal commitment to combating postpartum depression through new research, education initiatives and voluntarily support service programs.
